Frequently Asked Questions
Consumers
Can I request a test from NL-Lab myself?
Yes, you can.
In our web shop you will find available tests for individuals.
In addition, we have a special test offer for practitioners (doctors/therapists/dieticians/etc.). If you are looking for a practitioner to request a test for you, please contact NL-Lab.
Can my current practitioner use NL-Lab?
Yes, you can.
If your practitioner (on your recommendation) wants to use NL-Lab's services, he/she can register register here.
How does NL-Lab handle personal data?
NL-Lab's analyses are provided in full compliance with current privacy laws. We do not work with patient data, but with sample codes specified by the practitioner. As a result, only the practitioner knows which patients the analysis data belong to.
Will NL-Lab take blood from me?
NL-Lab does not take blood from patients itself, this can be done by external blood collection sites. This is always done in consultation with your doctor or therapist.
If finger prick blood is needed for analysis, you can collect and send it yourself (at home) using the instructions in our test kit.
Does NL-Lab also accept analysis requests from abroad?
Shipping medical material from abroad is not a problem. We use UPS Express service for this purpose. International shipments are subject to additional shipping charges.
What are NL-Lab's opening hours?
NL-Lab is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. With the exception of official holidays.
For sample collection, you do not need to come to NL-Lab. For intestinal microbiome research and parasite research, you can easily take a stool sample yourself at home. For blood tests, you make an appointment (at the direction of your practitioner) for blood sampling. This is at a location near you.
What is the delivery time of my order?
The test kits have a delivery time of 3 to 5 business days. Have you not received a package after 5 business days? If so, please contact our customer service department.
How should I send the sample to the laboratory?
Explanations on how to send the test to NL-Lab can be found in the test kit manual. If you have questions about the return please contact our customer service.
How long do I have to wait for my test results?
We report the results of an examination within 10 working days. The 10 working days start after we receive the sample in our laboratory. Upon receipt of a request, we will notify you by e-mail. This will give you an indication of when the results will be available.
Why is the test offerings in the web shop different from the offerings for practitioners?
The results of a test can sometimes be difficult to understand. The tests in the web shop are generally easy to understand. The more different tests there are in 1 package, the more difficult the results are to understand.
We believe it is important that the results of a comprehensive test be reviewed by a practitioner who understands the results in addition to being able to assess the client's complaints/symptoms.
Will NL-Lab's services be reimbursed by my health insurance company?
NL-Lab's studies fall under non-contracted care.
