Can I request a test myself at NL-Lab?
Yes, that is possible.
In our webshop you will find the available tests for private individuals.
We also offer a special testing program for healthcare providers (doctors, therapists, dietitians, etc.). If you're looking for a healthcare provider to request a test for you, please contact NL-Lab .
Can my current healthcare provider use NL-Lab?
Yes, that is possible.
If your practitioner (on your recommendation) wishes to use the services of NL-Lab, he/she can register here .
How does NL-Lab handle personal data?
NL-Lab's analyses are carried out in full compliance with current privacy legislation. We don't use patient data, but rather sample codes provided by the healthcare provider. This ensures that only the healthcare provider knows which patients the analysis data pertains to.
Does NL-Lab take blood from me?
NL-Lab does not collect blood samples from patients itself; this can be done at external blood collection sites. This should always be done in consultation with your doctor or therapist.
If finger prick blood is needed for analysis, you can collect and send it yourself (at home) using the instructions in our test kit.
Does NL-Lab also accept analysis requests from abroad?
Sending medical supplies from abroad is no problem. We use UPS Express for this service. Additional shipping costs apply for international shipments.
What are NL-Lab's opening hours?
NL-Lab is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding public holidays.
You don't need to visit NL-Lab to have samples taken. For gut microbiome and parasite testing, you can easily collect a stool sample at home. For blood testing, you can schedule a blood test appointment (as directed by your healthcare provider). This will be at a location near you.
What is the delivery time of my order?
The test kits have a delivery time of 3 to 5 business days. If you haven't received your package after 5 business days, please contact our customer service .
How do I send the sample to the laboratory?
Instructions for sending the test to NL-Lab can be found in the test kit manual. If you have any questions about returning the test, please contact our customer service .
How long do I have to wait for my test results?
We report the results of an examination within 10 business days. The 10 business days begin after we receive the sample at our laboratory. Upon receipt of a request, we will notify you by email, giving you an indication of when the results will be available.
Why is the test offering in the webshop different from the offering for healthcare providers?
Test results can sometimes be difficult to understand. The tests in the webshop are generally easy to understand. However, the more different tests in a single package, the more difficult the results are to understand.
We believe it is important that the results of a comprehensive test are assessed by a practitioner who understands the results and can also assess the client's complaints/symptoms.
Are NL-Lab's services reimbursed by my health insurer?
NL-Lab's research falls under non-contracted care.

How can I, as a practitioner, start using NL-Lab?
If you're a practitioner and would like to use NL-Lab's services, you can register here . Once you're registered with NL-Lab, you can access our research.
What are the benefits of an NL-Lab account?
With an NL-Lab account, you can easily and efficiently use our online services:
- Online orders: You can place orders directly
through your personal account - Direct client billing: With an account, you can forward payments for exams directly to your client. This way, your client pays themselves, and you don't have to worry about invoicing.
- Custom reporting sharing: You control who receives the report – you, or both you and your client.
How does SMS verification for secure documents work?
When you receive a secure document, you'll first receive an email asking you to verify your mobile number. Once you confirm, the document will arrive in your inbox. To open it, you'll receive a security code via text message, which you'll need to enter to access the document.
How long do I have to wait for a test result?
We report the results of an examination within 10 business days. The 10 business days begin after we receive the sample at our laboratory. Upon receipt of a request, we will notify you by email, giving you an indication of when the results will be available.
Can I still adjust the test request?
The sooner you inform us of the change, the better our chances of fulfilling it. This varies depending on the situation and request. Please contact our customer service to discuss your options.
Can I receive a sample report?
After you register as a practitioner with NL-Lab, we will contact you. You can also request sample reports. You can indicate this in the comments during registration.
Does NL-Lab also accept analysis requests from abroad?
We welcome any physician or therapist who wishes to use our services, even internationally. Shipping medical supplies from abroad is no problem, precisely because our technology doesn't mind a sample taking a little longer to arrive . We use UPS Express for shipping.
Do you also provide education (webinars or courses)?
NL-Lab organizes webinars and (in collaboration with partners) refresher courses. A current overview of all educational activities can be found here .

Invoices from NL-Lab must be paid within 30 days of invoicing.
Is it possible to forward payments directly to my client?
If you have an NL-Lab account for online orders, you can easily request a test online. When submitting a new request, you can choose to pay yourself as a practitioner or send a payment link to your client. If you choose to pay via the client, your client will receive an email from NL-Lab with your test request, including a payment link to complete the order. Once the client has paid, you will receive a confirmation.
