What is NL-Lab?

New Light Analytics, or NL-Lab for short, is a private, medical research laboratory located in the north of the Netherlands, specialized in diagnostic research into COVID-19, chronic infections, tickborne diseases and the function of the gut microbiome. NL-Lab mainly uses advanced DNA diagnostics.

What are the opening hours of NL-Lab?

NL-Lab is open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. With the exception of official holidays.

How can I contact NL-Lab?

On our website (www.nl-lab.nl) you can find general information about NL-Lab and its services. You can also call us: +31-515-200220. Finally, you can send an email to info@nl-lab.nl. We usually respond within 24 hours.

I am a medical professional: how can I start using NL-Lab?

If you want to use the services of NL-Lab as a medical professional, you can contact us via info@nl-lab.nl or you can reach us via: +31-515-200220. You will receive additional information and a registration form from us. After you have registered with NL-Lab you can use our analysis services.

What happens after my registration as a medical professional at NL-Lab?

After your registration as a medical professional at NL-Lab, you will receive the diagnostic portfolio, application forms and shipping materials free of charge to the address you specified.

As a medical professional, how can I request additional shipping materials?

If you need additional shipping material, you can request additional material via info@nl-lab.nl or you can contact us via +31-515-200220.

How does NL-Lab handle personal data?

NL-Lab’s analyzes are carried out in full compliance with current privacy legislation. We do not work with patient data, but with sample codes designed by the medical professional. As a result, only the medical professional knows to which patients the analysis data belong.

I am a patient: how can NL-Lab help me?

You can find the available tests for private individuals in our webshop.

All other examinations can only be obtained through a registered doctor or therapist. The doctor/therapist arranges the blood draw. After we have completed your examination, we will send the results back to your doctor/therapist who will then discuss them with you. If you are looking for a doctor or therapist, you can contact NL-Lab via info@nl-lab.nl.

My doctor/therapist is not yet working with NL-Lab, now what?

Your doctor or therapist can register via info@nl-lab.nl. If you are looking for a doctor or therapist that is already registered, please contact NL-Lab.

Do I have to contact NL-Lab for a blood draw?

NL-Lab does not draw blood from patients itself, this can be done through external blood collection locations. This is always in consultation with your doctor or therapist. If finger prick blood is needed for an analysis, you can collect and send it yourself, at home, using the instructions from our test kit.

Can I go to any blood collection point?

NL-Lab supplies collection and shipping material to the doctor or therapist, which can be used at any blood collection point. Blood is drawn in consultation with your doctor or therapist.

How can I send my samples?

NL-Lab supplies medical shipping material (EU approved). Shipping is free within The Netherlands. You can pack the medical sample according instructions and send it to NL-Lab.

Does NL-Lab also accept analysis requests from abroad?

We are open to any doctor or therapist who wants to use our services. Also abroad. Sending medical samples from abroad is not a problem, precisely because it does not matter to our technology if a sample is on the road a few days longer.

How long do I have to wait for my test result?

As a rule of thumb, the analysis results are available to your doctor or therapist within 14 days of receipt of the sample at our lab.

My result is positive. What should I do?

Please contact your doctor or therapist. Your blood or faeces sample has been sent by her/him to NL-Lab for analysis. Your doctor or therapist receives the analysis results and knows your medical file. He or she can work with you on a treatment plan.

Are NL-Lab's services reimbursed by my health insurance company?

NL-Lab’s tests fall under non-contracted care. This means that in The Netherlands health insurers in principle reimburse 60% of the costs. However, this is often not clearly stated in the terms and conditions of the insurers. Would you like more certainty about the reimbursement? Or are you from another country? Please check with your health insurer.

In what ways can I, as a medical professional, pay the invoice for requested analyses?

NL-Lab periodically invoices the analyses done. These must be paid within 30 days after invoicing.

Which certifications does NL-Lab have?

NL-Lab monitors the quality carefully. For validation of tests, NL-Lab uses ISO-16140 and extensive laboratory quality standards such as ISO/IEC 17025.

The used analysis equipment is CE IVD certified.

In addition, our COVID-19 saliva tests are also registered by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use within the USA.
